The Daily Brief is the first thing you see when you open Forepost each morning. Instead of scanning dashboards and pulling reports, you get a single, clear narrative — under 200 words — that tells you what happened, what needs attention today, and what to watch ahead. Forepost generates it automatically on load, grounded in your current workspace data.

What the brief covers

Each Daily Brief contains three elements:
  • Headline metric story — the most significant movement in your support data, framed in plain language (for example, “CSAT held steady at 91% despite a 14% spike in weekly volume”).
  • What needs attention today — specific areas or agents that warrant action, drawn from your metrics and team data.
  • One forward-looking observation — a signal worth monitoring, such as a trend that could become a problem if left unaddressed.
The brief is written in confident, readable prose. It is not a bullet list — it is a summary you can read in 30 seconds and act on immediately.

Metric sparkline cards

Alongside the written brief, four metric cards give you a quick visual pulse on your support function:
CardWhat it shows
CSATCustomer satisfaction score with a 7-point trend sparkline
Weekly volumeTicket volume this week versus last week
First responseMedian first response time trend
AI deflectionPercentage of tickets resolved without an agent
Each card displays the current value and a sparkline so you can see the direction of travel at a glance. These cards are read-only on the Daily Brief view — to update the underlying numbers, go to Settings → Update metrics.

How it’s generated

Forepost generates the brief using Claude by Anthropic. You’ll see the Powered by Forepost · claude-sonnet-4 label at the bottom of the brief. Generation happens automatically each time you load the app in the morning — no action required.
The quality of your brief depends directly on the metrics in your workspace. If your data is stale, the AI’s analysis will reflect that. Update your metrics regularly in Settings → Update metrics to get the most accurate and useful briefs.

Regenerate the brief

If you want a fresh version — for example, after updating your metrics mid-morning — click Regenerate in the header. Forepost will run a new generation against your current workspace data and replace the existing brief.
1

Update your metrics (optional)

If you have new data to add, go to Settings → Update metrics before regenerating so the new brief reflects the latest numbers.
2

Click Regenerate

In the Daily Brief header, click the Regenerate button. The brief will refresh in a few seconds.
3

Read and act

Use the new brief to reprioritise your day if anything significant has changed.

Tips for getting the most out of your brief

The Daily Brief is only as good as the data behind it. If you update your metrics weekly — or more frequently when volumes spike — the brief will surface more meaningful signals and fewer stale observations.
If something significant happens mid-morning (a volume spike, a platform outage, an agent calling in sick), update your metrics and regenerate. The fresh brief will incorporate the new context.
The headline metric story and the attention item are designed to be read aloud. Copy the brief and share it in your team Slack channel or read it at the start of a standup to align the team quickly.
If the brief surfaces something you want to dig into — “why is first response time creeping up?” — open Ask Forepost and ask the question directly. The AI will give you a more detailed answer grounded in your data.
